The BSID organises an annual scientific meeting, which is usually held in April. The location of the meeting varies each year.

The 2012 meeting was held at the University of Exeter, 16-18 April 2012.

The 2013 meeting will be held in Edinburgh, 7-8 May, as a satellite to IID 2013.
